Traffic and Accessibility

To keep our growing city healthy and accessible, we are prioritising clean modes of transport that use as little space as possible, i.e. walking, cycling and public transport. This keeps the air cleaner and our streets quieter and safer.

Through traffic is kept outside the city as much as possible. We are redesigning many of our streets—adding express cycle routes, for example. To ensure an attractive and safe living environment, we are reducing the speed limit to 30 km/h in some areas.

The climate and our health demand different choices. We are making the admission requirements of the environmental zone stricter and by 2025, businesses will only be supplied with emissions-free energy. We are trying to make it as easy as possible to choose clean transportation by ensuring sufficient electric charging stations for bicycles and cars and more electric public transport, for example.
